About the Founder – Shizuka Ishihara
Shizuka Ishihara, the founder of miGak nail art table, brings a deep-rooted passion for artistry and detail to every aspect of the salon. She began her journey in Japan, where she honed her skills as a nail artist over seven years before moving to New York in 2012 to further expand her creative vision.
Known for her refined design sensibility, technical precision, and warm, engaging personality, Shizuka has built a loyal and diverse clientele that includes celebrities like Alanis Morissette, members of the Rockefeller family, and a range of influential creatives and trendsetters.
Beyond her day-to-day work at the salon, Shizuka’s artistry has been featured backstage at New York Fashion Week and in editorial shoots for top fashion publications such as ELLE and Numéro.
Shizuka is also the innovator behind a one-of-a-kind diamond nail service—the only of its kind in the U.S. Using her own proprietary technique, she safely embeds genuine natural diamonds onto the nail, ensuring they stay securely in place without damage. Even more remarkably, the diamonds can be removed without scratching and reused multiple times, offering clients a sustainable way to wear true luxury.
Her work reflects her belief that nails are a form of wearable art—and miGak is her canvas to share that philosophy with the world.
